So I recently got this Trojan mid-cabin. When purchased it was hooked to shore power no issues.Took it out for a spin. Now when I plug it in the indicators say Nuetral is hot hot is open. Nothing changed. I tried unplugging cable at both ends resetting breakers etc.

Any ideas?

Atm its unplugged

Assuming 2 - 30amp cables
Have you measured the pedestal and cables for correct voltage and pin locations

1 30amp with a y Connector. And no haven't measured. I'll get my multi meter and check at the cable ends of the y.

1 - 30 with a Y means there isn't enough power. In most cases the boat would need one-30 for AC and second-30 for house loads

And what's Atm in first post being unplugged ?

Right but not running ac. The original owner had it hooked up that way the a/c is disconnected.

I can ditch the y and try without.

atm = at the moment

So went to test the line today. Removed the y and 😲 the cord was burned up. Tried an ohm test ground was fine the 2 hots not so much.

Any idea of cause? Maybe just old cord went south?

the 2 hots not so much

Remember there is only 1 hot, the other is common

The Y's are normally designed to take 2 - 30's and make them 1 - 30, and not the reverse.

Look at the connectors and are they all 30 - 120V and not something else?

Right .. 110 not 220 so hot neutral ground. They are all 30a 125v marked.

interesting about the y. The po had it hooked up so it was splitting the cord output into the 2 inputs on the boat. I assumed that was acceptable.

I'm pondering age of cord and if someone like on of my kids messed with it.

One to two works, just not enough power to run anything heavy on the house side if the AC is running

Ac only thing on second side and the ac is none functional. So I suppose I can just skip the y and plug into 1 only.
