Shoreland'r Guide post gone.. craaaap.

Never really scrutinized this dumb design before, but if the guide post on a Shoreland'r trailer comes loose, it just plunks out the bottom. And one of mine did last night- no idea how or why, I haven't loosened them or otherwise touched them in 5 years. I backtracked in the darkness an hour looking for it. No sign of it. I hope it isn't through someone's oil pan. It was left side too. egads. Sick feeling seeing it's absence. If you have the type like mine where the tube clamps in from underneath- I would think about welding a safety chain to it. Wish I had before.

Another option would be to install some pins. On my boatmate there are snapper pins that keep the posts from actually coming out and the bolts are just to tighten the guide posts up in the bores.
