Hello all, I am a new member here but have been lurking this great forum for quite a while. I recently bought a 1995 Lund 1775 pro v and I am looking to mount a 9.9 or 15hp kicker next to the 130 Yamaha. I am wondering if I need a long or short shaft on there. I found a sweet short shaft 9.9 Merc for it but I dont know if that will work. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jim

was wondering the same thing myself.2001 pro v they don't make a lot of long shaft kickers. so i would think short would be ok, but my boat is in storage so I have to wait to measure.

I did some research and measuring and found that we need 20 inch (long shaft) kicker motors. Measuring down from the top of the transom area where the motor bracket sits on, down to the bottom of the boat I came up with 20 inches. The motor shaft is measured from the top of the bracket where it sits on the transom, to the cavitation plate above the prop. Long shafts are pretty common and they pop up frequently on C/L, evil bay etc. i have been searching for the right one for several weeks now. Would love a 4 stroke 8 hp Yamaha. Mainly to match the 130 2 stroke Yamaha main motor, but if a sweet merc or johnson comes along I would jump on it. Jim
