Short Shaft to Long Shaft

OK, Here is my problem. I have a Long Shaft boat with a Short Shaft motor. It is a 77 35HP Rude. Is there a way to make it a long shaft? My AV plate is about 5inches above the bottom of my boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a common conversion and relatively easy to do.
