One of my friends had a 30 something foot cruiser with twin 454s. The rig also had a fuel flow meter. I think he said that the 454s sucked 72 gph at WOT. Something to think about.

Holly, we're talking about droping $235.00 +/- per hour in just fuel. I sure hope she gets were she's going quick.

I think you'll be glad you turned down the offer in the long run. You'll probably hear back from him lowering the price, though. But,for that kind of money...I'd look into a new boat. Check out the boat shows...They're in full gear all over the country right now.

I think you guys have made some very good points, the Regal is over priced even if its lower hours and you sink or set it on fire they will only look at the blue book value which is far below $80,000....

That actually depends on what insurance carrier you choose and what policy you choose. The company I have, I coulf pay the $80k, insure it for $100k, and it it gets destroyed, I get the 100k.

But regardless, I pointed out way back in the beginning that the boat was WAY overpriced. And there were other comparables for a lot less money.

I think he realizes that keeping his current boat is the best plan.

Although I'm not overly familiar with Regals, that seems to be an awful lot of money for a 15 yr old boat. I think with the economy on the brink of a recession and the boating off season there are better deals to be had.

Take a look @ iboats classifieds at the top of the page. Much better deals IMHO.
