Should I change the prop

I weigh just under 16 stone, 101Kg or 224lb. When I wakeboard behind my Regal 1900LSR 4.3GL 190BHP boat the speed I feel comfortable boarding is right where the boat starts to get on the plane. Unfortunately as soon as its on the plane its too fast and under its too slow I start to sink!. The ideal rpms is 2800. So we end up with each run slow , good , too fast , sink, good , too fast etc etc

My question is would reducing the prop pitch make any difference to this problem or am I just at the wrong weight? Or should I learn to board faster?

Regards

Oh, cmyers, do we have the answer for you. Yours is a problem I faced for years until, da da da da da da.......Smart tabs came along. I put them on at the beginning of last year and it was incredible.

Now with boat full of people, 2000 rpm, bow down, perfect throttle and speed control, no more see sawing back and forth between displacement and planing with the resultant radical drop/gain in speed. Absolute night and day.

Another huge plus was that my no wake wandering disappeared. Now when I'm driving thru the marinas I can actually get up and walk around the ol' 20 footer and she stays straight on course.

Will it not plane at the same speed regardless of the RPM of a pitch change ??? unless the weight distribution is changed ???

His 'sweet spot' is right on the cusp of planing. Tabs and/or weight redistribution will fix it.
