My 1966 Lark VIII runs very good for a 44 years old outboard. Should I de-carb it to clean it?

Compression was arround 105-110 PSI on both cylinders before the season.

Some do it as a maintance item, some do it when it is needed, it's up to you.
Personally I do it every couple of years just to keep it clean inside. I also run sea foam in every tank.

That's not bad compression... As mentioned, it's really up to you. It wont hurt it and can usually only help it...

With the others, certainly can't hurt and I am sure after 44 years there is at least some carbon build up, lol.

If you have never done it be aware that they smoke REALLY bad as it burns the carbon out so you may want to be in an out of the way spot on the river or lake, I did my last one at my house, suprised no one called the fire department.

I'd just add Seafoam to the gas: 2 ounces per gallon, rather than do a full decarb. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
