Found it by worksite, 12' Ted Williams, fiber glass, all parts for console steering, bench seats, will need hull gouge and scrape repair, some cracks and maybe redo transom, no motor but I've got an old 5 hp Clinton that needs to be refurbed(good compression) . I've already got a 17' aluminum 40 Merc OB(that I always use) in garage. What would the approx. cost in repair be? I have'nmt worked with glass in years, but I'm real handy. Would this be worth it?
Thanks, Heinz

a free boat is always worth the money if u got
the "time" to invest...
worst case scenario, donate it to the boy scouts
or a tech school to rebuild. are the "sea scouts"
still around?
can u rebuild it and maybe break even selling her?
if your own slave labor is free. LOL :p
can u fix her up and run her?
most deff!

That really depends. If you just want to mess with an old boat and enjoy it, then it is worth it. I have a 30 horse Johnson motor I'll be getting rid of in spring, and I have been hoping to come across a suitable 15" transomed hull 14 footer to spiff up a bit with minimal cost and sell as a package. I have also hoped to come across an old wood boat that the motor would be good for, and I would keep that. So far, no luck. I find freebie hulls, but they are all in the 19 foot area, and they are all in bad shape...

Ahoy Heinz,
As a kid my dad bought one similar for my bro and me. Was lots of fun, even though we only had oars.

5hp sounds right. If you have the need for a little, albeit heavy sneak box type of boat for those little fishing holes go for it.

You could design and fabricate some sort of "wheel kit" to allow you to launch 'er at out of way ponds, rivers or lakes. I've always intended to do something similar. Ahhh someday I will.
