I just bought a 91 115 mercury. I haven't had it on the water yet as i don't have it on my boat. The idle is pretty rough only on two cylinders. I have done some reading on here and saw one suggestion that it would not run right in low RPM's without the oiler hooked up in lieu of the premix. Many take the thing off, and i'm wandering if it is worth the cash to find one to put on?

A secondary question would be what is the best low end tach to put on the engine?

I opted out of replacing mine because it seemed as if most people took them off and I saw so many kits to block them off. I would rather have a rough idle than a seized engine from oil injection failure. I had a 86 115 and after the rebuild my mechanic said to run a bit more oil for the break-in and then 50-1. Best idling motor I have ever had.

Auto-oilers are a matter of personal preference. If you are religious about mixing your fuel you will be fine, skip it even once and seize the motor.

The 2 + 2 system works well once dialed in exactly as spelled out in the FACTORY service manual.
