Re: Should I? (time sensitive)

buy it. you will love it.

my 2002 190 SeaRay fit in my 22' garage. needed the folding tongue on the trailer to do so, however I even had a few inches to spare. the drive will need to be down as close to concrete as posible (after you get it almost all the way backed in)

Also, remember to raise the drive when you start to pull the boat out aluminum skeg marks are difficult to get off the concrete:facepalm:

you can not get the swooshy decals anymore from SeaRay, however I had mine removed and simply pinstriped.

you will love the passenger side built in cooler. if you want to put trim tabs on the boat, send me a PM and I can walk you thru the mods needed.

Re: Should I? (time sensitive)

Thanks alot Scott, its a done deal hooking it up after work. Naturally supposed to be cold and rainy this weekend. Are you aware of a "kit" that you can buy for the break away tongue? LOL I think you must know me, by the comment "not forgetting to raise the lower unit before I leave!! I also know you know your business, because my buddy (original owner) called Sea Ray and told him the same thing reference the decal. Pretty excited about the boat, and my son is ok with not eating for a little while.lol. I will post some better pics once I get her home. Thanks again.

Hey Cribber. Great advice. We used to go on the river often, we love it there. I am also on the Harris Chain Tavares/Leesburg.
Not knowing where you are in central Florida... see if he'll take it out for a sea tryal like Oops suggests. Tomorrow the winds are supposed to kick up to 25 from the southwest. So try to start out from that shoreline or drop it in the Saint Johns for a couple of hours of fun if it's close by.

Re: Should I? (time sensitive)

Congrats on getting the new boat!!! Today would have been the perfect day to be out on Harris if the winds wouldn't have been so bad. We usually put in at Venetian Cove in Leesburg and make a run down to Little Lake Harris for a pitstop at JB Boondocks in Howey this time of year (look for the big blue roof on the western shoreline). We're out on the lake every weekend we can when the weather is good.

If you have a shoreland'r trailer, then you can buy a break away tongue. I have seen them for about $130 from the shoreland'r dealers. its a factory piece that simply bolts in (no drilling like the fulton unit)

If you need anything just let me know.

as an FYI - have an extra ignition hall-effect sensor on hand in the boat (the originals were not fully conformal coated) Its about $50 and will only fail if your no where near someone to tow you back. if you have it on board, you will never need it.

Re: Should I? (time sensitive)

Well here is the good..........and the bad. I guess we all knew it wasnt gonna fit, so I am in the process of obtaining a break away hitch. Looks as though I will have about 3-4 inches to spare after. I never realized how much bigger (width and height) a 19 ft is compared to the 17' I have had. Par for the course one of my few "free" weekends woth a new boat and weather is crap. Scott, it is an EZ Loader trailer, I will check there web site as well, also good advice, if you have something you will never need it. @ Cribber, we have been known to frequent the BoonDocks and JJ FIns and O'Keefes, Lake Harris Hideaway etc....lol.

Re: Should I? (time sensitive)

Thanks JasinIll, we are very excited to get on the water and check it out. I swore I would never buy a boat without water testing it first, but like previous mentioned I bought from a friend who would disclose any flaws and absolutlely everything works, tilt/trim,horn,all guages, built in depth finder, bilge pump, exhaust fans etc.... which leads me to a question, the hour meter shows 299.7 does that sound right for a 97? Judging the shape it wasn't used often but maintained well in fact he give me the rest of the Marine Sta-Bil he was using.

Nice boat! Congratulations!

I don't know about the hour meter. I'm a new boat owner (first time) and when I first started looking, I assumed the hour meter was like an odometer on a car, which can be altered but generally isn't. From what I've read, though, it sounds like you really can't put much stock in them. If yours is correct, the boat has been run about 25 hours per year. Given how pristine it looks from your pics, I could believe that. But there are others here with way more experience that me... Still, it looks like a nice boat!

It's a beauty! Congratulations on a heckuva purchase!!

You are going to have to get a flexible brake line extension to go with the folding tongue kit.

Re: Should I? (time sensitive)

nice boat, makes me miss mine. you will love the storage to the right/left of the engine. I put a tote in there with an air pump for inflatables, a drift sock, sweat shirts, extra clothes, beach blanket, etc. the other side had a tote for rear anchor, tow rope, etc.

I used small totes under the rear bench to put the towels in - kept them dry. then the life vests went around them.

I do recommend adding a few more power outlets. I put one in the glovebox to power MP3 Players, etc. and a few under the gunwales. the hour meter should be right. I bought mine with 124 hours on it, and sold it at 277. I owned it for 3 years

for trolling, I made a board that straps to the swim platform that held the rod holders. took only a few minutes to install.

enjoy your boat

Re: Should I? (time sensitive)

Well 250.00 later and it is in the garage with about 6 inches in front and 6 inches to the rear to spare. Weather conditions and work has not allowed me to get it on the water yet, (going crazy) to test it out. The previous owner started it regularly and used Stabil. Prior to its Maiden Voyage should I put a battery charger (tender) on it? If so, which setting should I use? Also, while pulling it around from the trailer service place and backing it up I realized how much heavier this boat is than the previous. I have a 2009 Nissan Frontier (V6), the trailer does have hydraulic breaks, does anyone anticipate a problem, perhaps at the launch? As always thanks in advance for your input.
