I got a '70 Chrysler. When at cruising speed, the water comes out in dribbles. The overheat light never comes on. So, at least on mine, I'm not worried.

If you have Thru-Hub exhaust, it will mostly come out thru the prop. If it's been 2 years since a water pump replacement or if you don't know when it was replaced, it's time for a new one.

Brett,

That engine didn't have a telltale, as you know.

It also does not emit much water at planing speeds. Most of it goes out below the water line.

However, I would heed the impeller replacement advice.
