For those of us in visual range, the liftoff is set for 7:43pm EDT, just a few minutes after sunset.

Should be spectacular.

Cool thanks for telling me, I had no idea it was happening, launches must be getting pretty routine again about due for a screw up.

I'm going outside to watch it now. Still on schedule to lift off in 8 minutes.

That was a nice one!

Told my neighbors the launch was coming up. They weren't aware but hustled outside to watch.

We all got to see it and it was their first time. Plus, their kids were down here visiting from Canada and got to see it too.

I said "Welcome to Florida... dinosaurs and rockethips!" LOL! :D

The neighbors got pix and will email them to me later.

It was a beautiful launch. Wish i could have been there to see it in person but the High Def cameras really did a nice job. Post some pics when you get them.

I had to settle for watching it live on Fox news.
Even after all these years I am still awestruck by all things Shuttle.

Pretty cool. Zero to like 1,000 mph in around 60 seconds. Now that's what I call a hole shot!

Pix from my view... that's my Jeep in the foreground at the beginning of my driveway.

My neighbor took the pix.

There has been one report of a fatality, although they were unable to confirm.
A fruit bat was observed on one of the boosters at liftoff It was determined that it would have been unable to survive. I hope Peta doesn't hear about this.

0 to 18,000 MPH in 450 seconds!

I was in Fla, visiting folks one year and they took me to Titusville, we slept in the car, got ate by mosquitos, only to learn the launch had been scrubbed lol.
I hope to some day get the chance to see it up close and feel the rumble.

Yeah, we heard about the bat while watching SpaceVidCast.com during the launch. Viewers started a naming contest. I forgot what the winning name was, but my pick of "Crispy" fell short of the mark.
