i am currently re carpeting my 16 foot aluminum with proper marine carpet, man pulling out the indoor/outdoor glued carpeting sucks major.......

anyway, i want to redo my side console, but i would like to see some other side consoles to see if there is anything else i can do with this.

currently i have, steering wheel, 8x5 switch panel, and my fishfinder on the top. I dont have really much room left and need to add a tach and maybe a speedo. i would love to add a small removable windshield as well. the console will be carpeted over.

if anyone can post some pics of their basic side consoles, it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Mine is pretty small too so you have to get a little creative with space.

I have a tach, voltage gauge, trim gauge, cig lighter and 2 power ports in mine with tilt steering and 6 switches,2 being double throw.

Interior lights-Nav lights-Livewell in/out-recirulate timer-Bilge and a fan switch, couldn't find a place for a stereo so I mounted that in the side of console, actually is easier to get to when you are fishing.

On the front I have the horn,2 more power ports(ya never know) and a fan to circulate heat(from an old computer)

I have access to alot of aluminum so I covered the top and side with .080 to cover 20+ years of holes and made the actual dash out of 1/4" so it wouldn't need to be reinforced.

I work for a boat company so obsolete wiring harnesses and dash panels are abundant so the only thing I had to pay for was the timer switch, rough I know.

I would cut a new dash panel and lay everything out off the boat, it is alot easier to work on, just watch your clearance on the edge.

Watch the steering wheel too, I got everyhting where I wanted it then held the wheel in place and it blocked the gauges, another reason to test fit everything before you start cutting.

Also make sure your wires are plenty long so you can pull the dash out enough to get the wires on, beats trying to cram yourself under the con.

You can see where I decided to put the trash can too.
