MY side mount lever has alot of "play" in the forward position. Boat still goes in gear nicely and is responsive but I have to hold control near the base to get best results. I took it apart and it looks as if there is a metal gear type nut that is turned by the plastic of the lever.
Can this be fixed or do I need to replace the entire thing? Can I just order the plastic handle without replacing the entire box? Anyone know any good fixes or site to buy just the plastic parts?

For the record I have a 1991 Dynasty I/O mercruier engine -- The lever is the type that has trim at top, Trailer button in middle of control and Neutral button at the bottom where I think the "play" is happening?
