side to side play in volvo steering

I have a 2002 5.7 gsi with duo prop drive. It seems there is lots of play in the drive and steering seems loose. When hauling boat I notice the drive is always leaning to right whenever I stop. I can center it (because it bugs me)and 100 mles later its back to the right. This has the teleflex steering and I don't see any leaks in the hydraulic side.

Ayuh,... It takes 3 people to really Inspect the steering system,...

1 will hold the wheel while the 2nd pushes side to side on the drive, while You inspect All of the connections for Play...
Then have the 2nd Hold the drive as the 1st moves the wheel side to side as You inspect the connections....

After you've Found the Slop,...
Replace the worn parts...
