Just a quick question. Is it alright to unscrew the filter (little plastic piece on the outside) and turn the hose connection in a different direction? My fuel hose comes in from a different way and I just want it to fit straight in.

For sure, that is what it is for.

Thank hightrim. Wasn't sure because the old one appeared to have a little slot that lined up with the other slot on the pump. New one seems to have holes separated equally around the pump.

Just curious what motor you're using that fuel pump on. I ask because they don't make my fuel pump any more (1960 Evinrude) and this seems to be the one I'd need to upgrade to. But I was wondering the same thing about the direction the of the hose connection. Thanks

'68 Evinrude Fastwin. They don't make my fuel pump or kits anymore either.
