Any of you guys have a preference over using sierra, mallory, or sticking with oem parts. Namely waterpump and lower units seals and gaskets.

To be honest, if I have a choice, I go with OEM. That's just me. Many have great success with the others.

If you're talking Merc, then all parts have a 12 month warranty. Not only that, but if they fail and damage other parts in the process, they're covered too. And that's not just for dealer installed parts either.. It's everybody. Don't think you'll find that on 'after-market' parts....

Re: Sierra or OEM

Well, you guys definitely convinced me. Mercury parts are the way to go, besides they are only a few dollars more. Thanks

Shot a fuel at WOT bug outa my 150. Turned out the Sierra replacement bayonet connector couldn't deliver enough fuel. Could have toasted the powerhead.

OEM, IMHO

Re: Sierra or OEM

1992 merc. 9.9...New sierra impeller.....tips broke first trip out. Thank god I cought it from the water spitter. I tried to save $4.00.....Almost cost me the engine...

Why do after market parts very seldom fit properly or fail fast.....how do thay stay in buisness?????

We alway end up back at OEM.
