Hi all, I just purchased a Sierra rectifier for my 80' 35 hp Johnson. It has 3 yellow wires and 1 red, but my old one has red, yellow, yellow/grey, and yellow/blue. I found an old post saying that in the box there should have been a note saying it doesn't matter which yellows go to what. I found no such note so I am reluctant to hook them up. Is this true? If it doesn't matter, why did OMC use different colors? And do I hook the tach up to the same yelloy/grey from the stator? Thank's in advance from a totally confused shadetree mechanic.
