Seal kit is for a 1957 35 Lark. First, I do not own "official" seal installingtools... I use dowels and a mallet. When installing the seal under the water pump, I was unable to get it all the way seated. That is to say, the sleeve below it has about 1/16" to 1/8" travel... Is this ok? or do i need to pound on it some more. The seals provided look "different" from the originals. The seal that goes on the prop shaft for example, is open on one side (you can see the spring retainer). the original was not. I was not sure which end went first. I ended up putting the more open end in towards the prop. Was that correct? Does it matter?. Last, there were three "o" rings. One large, one small but fat, one very small. The large was for near the prop. The small fat one for the shift rod seal... Where does the smallest on go?
I assume the two small nylon washers are for the oil drain screws. Thanls for your help. Sure would like to get this motor running again.
Regards,
Tom
