Sierra vs. Mallory??

I've got an '81 25hp Johnson that I am looking to tune up a bit. I am planning on getting a carb kit, water pump kit, and fuel pump kit. Just curious if there are any differences between the Sierra and Mallory kits?
How difficult is it to rebuild a carb? Any info. would be great. Thank you!

i would use sierra, carb is not bad, see directions in THE TOP SECRET FILE.

Thank you! I will check out the TOP SECRET FILE. So is there much difference between the two brands besides the name? Prices seem to be close.

sierra in now owned by Teleflex Marine. best is OEM, then Sierra, then Mallory imho. power pack CDI is the best over all of them.

CDI Electronics is a US manufacturing company that makes its own products here, and has excellent support and reputation. I personally depend on their documentation and I don't think that you will be disappointed in their products.

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure that's the right part. Gonna tear into this motor as soon as my FSM shows up in the mail.
