Volvo Penta(350 chevy block?) 1997 4.3L has a Sierra 18-7824 filter. is there a filter (quality) replacement. I have seen varied replacements on boards.

Thre are even more listed in sites. Is the Sierra 18-7824 that common that you can use many other filter? Is there a filter that I can by in a Car Parts store with better specs.

Ayuh,... Which is it,..?? they take different oil filters....

The 4.3l uses Napa 1036....

On a 4.3L Mercruiser, you have a different filter for the remote mounted filter from the block mounted filter.

A 350 Chevy block is not a 4.3L. 350 is an 8cyl 5.7L. Two different blocks and oil filters.

It's a 4.3gl volvo penta . I have a new block, but thought it was chevy??

It is a GM block....but not a 350 GM block
