Silly question from a noob

I have a mercruiser 470 setup but I shows in the books to be a mercruiser 1. is this the same as an alpha 1?

Mercruiser is the make of the engine.
Alpha one is the most common and cheapest of the out drives. There are some distinguishing characteristics of the drive such as the top of the unit. If it is flat and rectangle then it is a Alpha 1.

If it is from 1981 it is probably a pre-alpha or MC-1. It is similar to an Alpha 1 but not the same.
