As some of you folks already know I am very new to the boating world. Although I would say that I have already heard the sirens call. I bought a little old 14 foot SeaSwirl tri-hull (really it was only a hull) and laid down some carpet and built a few benches, wired a few lights and with your help I rehabbed a little merc outboard and away I went. This has been very fun to play around with. I?ve taken it to Monterey Bay and the lakes around my home??but it just was not enough.
I got a new project. I found an older boat I think it is a 57 or 59 Rienell Cabin cruiser. She is about 18 feet in length and much broader and ?taller? than my little tri-hull. I am planning to rebuild her much more properly and make a better reconditioning. Her body is in much better shape than my little boat when I got her. My question to you folks is about halfway down the length of the hull on both port and starboard sides are holes. I know that they are supposed to be there because the look like exit ports or something. They have a little skid plate or collar sort of thing. Can you please tell me what these holes are for and what should be connected to them?

Thank you all.

Sounds like they are there to let water off the deck -

thanks boss hawg, these "holes" would be underwater when the boat is floating. does that still sound like to let water off the deck? Hooah.

Can you take a picture and attach it to this thread? I think that would help!
