Silverton versus Carver

My wife and I currently own a 1985 33' Cruisers Inc Ultra Vee. We also own a 24' Monarch Tri-toon and a 34' Coachman Catalina camper on a seasonal spot at Prizer Point on Lake Barkley KY.

Soon, my daughter will be off to college, and we would like to sell the camper, tri-toon, and the Cruisers and get a larger boat.

I have reviewed many ads for both the Silvertons and the Carvers (ranging from 45 to 47 foot no later than a 1995) and see some mild differences in pricing, but I usually wind up finding the Silverton to be more reasonably priced. An example is a 1996 46' Silverton Cockpit Aft Cabin priced at $199,500.

Can anyone shed any light about the quality and reliability of a Silverton, or give an argument why a Carver would be better? I did not find much in the Silverton forum further down.

Re: Silverton versus Carver

I prefer Silverton over Carver, but have no experience in that size range. Silverton has an owners club, Springlines I think it's called. Do an internet search. Good luck
