Simple Tune Up.

This isnt intended to be a specific motor questions so I am posting it in the general forum. What does simple tune up entail? Spark plugs, lower unit oil, fuel filter, air filter? Please let me know, I might be buying a Johnson 110 hp, and at idle the rpm's go up and down, could be from 2-3 year old gas too. Just wondering your thoughts.

a simple tune up could include the expendables... plugs, other ignition related items, timing check... for a boat it might include a water pump impeller, too. and the items u mention.

check hoses, for cracks, grease all fittings, old gas to gone. you will probably need to clean the carbs, if the gas is that old.

What is the easiest way to remove the gas from the tanks, I thought I read somewhere that you can buy a simple pump from an auto parts store? If there is so little gas in the tanks can I just fill the tanks with new gas and leave the old stuff in there? Thank You.

Depends on how big the tanks are and how much fuel is left in them. If it's a small percentage, just refill them with fresh fuel and add some fuel stabilizer to the mix. If it's over about 10% of the capacity, I'd pump it out somehow.
