Re: Single or Double Hull
In my area it "generally" comes down to what is more important, a fast smooth ride to the fishing grounds, or a smoother more stable boat on the drift or at anchor? Cats will tend to have to slow down and kinda feel funny to me (probably just because I'm not used to them) in rougher conditions. You really feel the waves pulling you all over the place and you must slow down a bit. In a V hull you can cut through the waves alot better and maintain a solid speed. I have overtaken many twin 250HP WorldKats in my 200 HP 23' out at sea simply because my boat handles better. That being said, mine will roll alot in a chop where as the Kats will be much more stable.
