Accupressure: look at the web of skin between your thumb and index finger. Next time you get the start of a headache coming on grip on that web of skin with your other thumb and index finger, squeeze as hard as you can for about five minutes.

I have no idea why this works but it does :)

Something I picked up from my elders on allergies is this. Eat honey that is locally produced in your area. The honey is made up from all the pollen from the plants in your area. This helps your immune system fight the allergies that is caused by the local plants/weeds.

My brother was always plaqued by headaches and sinus problems due to allergies. After a month of using local honey in his diet, his problems went away. I feel blessed for not having those problems, but then I love my honey and it is always in my diet.

Thanks SSMayfloat,
I heard that too. I tried it a while ago but I can't stand honey! Not sure there's any local honey here in vegas, but I have been looking for a farmers market. Perhaps I'll try that out.

Again, thanks everybody for your sugestions, it's awesome to be able to hear from such a varied group, lot's of different angles to consider.

Kalian, you don't need to take it directly. My wife and I use it in all of our cooking. I put it into about anything I cook. Not enough to overwhelm the taste of what your cooking, but enough to know I'm getting my dose.

Well, I haven't tried it with cooking, but I've tried it with coffe, cereal and things like that, and it's too overpowering for me. If I use just enough to sweeten, the honey taste is too strong. But with the cooking? Hmmm... I'll have ta try it. I think that's definitly something to pursue though, my wife has allergies, (they were severe in VA and CA, just moderate here) and even if I can't tolerate it, it would probably be good for her.

By the way, I've also tried brown sugar, just to get away from the processed sugar, and even that is too strong for me! Maybe my taste buds are hypersensitive to natural sugar!
