I have a 1987 skeeter bass boat, the floor is gone in it and i was wondering if any one could tell me if there is a book out there so i can do this job a little easer instead of doing it blind. Thank you.

welcome to i boats !



this place is like boat university.......just about5 any question you want to ask about a boat has been covered in great detail on these forums at one time or another....

you can also read the completed projects forum....it has detailed pictures and procedures.....

even tho some of the boats arent bass boats........most boats are built the exact same way.......hull....stringers foam...deck.....cap and controls....

the hull extension thread is very detailed......and as close to a book as you can get...

but if you insist on a book.....there is a little bathroom book called runabout renovation by jim anderson that is easy to read and will cover some of the basics........but its very vauge on the detailes.

oops is right...his hull ext thread is quite good....ive used it along with asking a lot of questions to learn a ton. I still have a long way to go but I know so much more than when I started.

On a second note if your still looking for a good book built more like a manual you can go for The Fiberglass Boat Repair Manual by Allan H. Viatses. It might help if your willing to pay for it.

Runabout Renovation by John Anderson/Andersen is a good one...one of many good sources. The Skanky Beast thread by Jason J. is another good guide...lots of resources here on the forum. Do some reading and then get after it.

Another good book...

Sailboat Hull and Deck Repair. By Don Casey.

Even though it says sail boat the basics are all the same. Pretty simple reading and nice illustrations.
