Hey guys! I have 1990 Skeeter SF150 sx and I can't keep It from porpoising at full throttle. Equipped with 1986 yamaha pro v150 that run perfect. I've tried moving jack plate up and down which is a 6" by the way and I just don't get it. It did the same when I had merc 150 on it before. Any suggestions on what may be causing my problem? Thanks Justin

Typically porpoising is cause by your prop lifting the bow but not being about to keep it up so it falls then gets picked up again and so forth. A couple of questions:

What prop are you running? Is it in good shape?
How much are you trimming it up, and does trimming down help?
Is your boat getting up on the pad?
What kind of GPS speeds are you seeing with your current setup?

Re: Skeeter sf150 problems

I'm running a 3 blade 24 pitch. I can't go a 1/4 trim without it porpoising. I've tried raising and lower jack plate which is a 6 inch but it doesn't help. I'm seeing speeds right at 60 but that's with it trimmed out and bouncing like crazy. Would putting nauticus trim tab on help?
