i'm thinking of getting skeggards ,i've noticed little dings/pits on factory installed.The ones i am looking at are stainless steel dont look difficult to install but do worry about performance/noise on lower unit -rattle etc. looking for pros and cons if you have em?

Pretty popular around here in the lakes with shallow water and rocks. They will save the skeg and help but be aware that yout prop is still going to take a beating if you are not careful.

They install with bolts and stay tight.... a touch of 5200 inside when you install will also prevent rattles.

I had one on a merc 150 and it was never a problem.
