Re: Ski Pole Suggestions...

So what about this ski tow? Should this work or will there still be too much pressure coming to the transom?

That would work no problem. I think a tow ring at the top of the pole would be better, that way the rope wouldn't slide down. I'm not sure how you would attach the rope to that one pictured, so it wouldn't slide down.

I think the transom would handle the load without issue, but the bottom of the pole is where my concern would be. With a lot of force pulling from the top of the pole the bottom would go towards the engine and that bracket(at least in the pictures) doesn't look that stout. Maybe the lower bracket is much stronger than it looks and all would be fine. Depending on how long the pole is overall, that could create a lot of leverage on the bottom. Knee board,Wakeboard, combo skiis would probably be okay but a tube or real aggressive slalom skier can generate a lot of force. As far as rope attachment that is basically the same as a tower, double loop the loop at the end of the rope and it will be fine.

The bracket on mine is just like the one pictured. I pull a big bertha with two adults sometimes. the only issue I had was my bolt got bent a little bit. Thats a galvanized plate, I do believe.
