i recently purchase a 16ft champion bass boat with a 115 merc 98 i think. its the 4 cyclinder that idles on 2 cyclinders.the problem is when accerating at about 3000 rpm it hits a flat spot for a sec than kicks in a runs great after that.that flat spot is always there. went threw carbs a number of times and found nothing to be wrong.is this just a trait of that style motor r is there a fix.r is they a way to make motor hit on all 4 at ilde by maybe replacing carbs with air mixtures srews stump can anyone point me in a direction on fixing this problem r something im going to have to live with

Re: slight hesitation on merc 115

The adjustment of the acelerator pump is very important during the transition....motor works perfectly if adjusted correctly...many people have problems with this motor due to improper setup...
