I've been working on this stuff for 20 years, but sometimes you get a headbanger. I totally rebuilt the engine from the crank up, new wires, plugs, points, rebuilt the carb, idles great then you throttle up to about 2000 rpm or better I feel a slight miss. I have adjusted everything, is there a merc guru that can help me out. Thanks

Electronic ignition look at the module. Points try a condenser.

Thanks DieselWalt for the reply, it is a point and condenser ignition now that I think I have bought bad condensers in the past. I'll let you know. Thanks again!

Also check for leakage along the manifold/head gasket (or mating surface).I spray carb cleaner, wich may not be the best choice, along this seam.if RPM's change, try to retorque the bolts. If still a problem replace the gasket.I'm suggesting this more by the age of your motor than the symtoms you are giving.<br />DHPMARINE

Thanks DHP, I'll check the cylinder head for a leak. Thanks again
