Ok,

I've now determined my prop to be 14x20p (4 blade). I've read that the max rev on my engine is about 4600. With an average load (3 people, no towing) it revs at around 4800/4900. If this is the case will it do massive damage, i've heard no but would like to double check. Also, can I expect the max rev to change if the boat was full/towing and if so how? Sorry but poor weather is preventing me from answering the last question myself!

Cheers in advance,

D.

Ayuh,... It won't spin as fast...
Your choices are to prop Up, or just watch the rpms,+ Don't go WOT with to light of a load...

What year is your 3.0? It's WOT rating could be as high as 4800rpm. Also, are you certain your tach is accurate?

You might be exactly where you need to be.
