Slight prop rub on gear case after rebuild. Problem?

I have a 92 Johnson 140 on my 17' Glasply. I was putting it away recently and was a bit careless about backing it into its spot at my parent's house. I went a little too far back and the prop lightly hit the prop on my dad's boat. Since his is stainless and mine is aluminum, mine took all the damage. It knocked a small chunk out of the diffuser.

I took the prop in to be rebuilt and the shop fixed the diffuser and ground all the blades. The also removed the original anti-fouling coating and recoated the prop in some sort of black material. Overall the prop looked great, just like brand new. I reinstalled the prop and noticed that when turning it, one side of the prop will lightly contact the gear case. I figured the new coating may have been a little thick on one spot and figured it would rub off as the boat was used.

I've run the boat up and down the lake now and waterskied behind it once, but the prop is still rubbing slightly in that one spot. My first thought was that I bent the prop shaft, but the impact was pretty light and while there might be a tiny tiny bit of wobble when the shaft is spun, it's sure not bent much if at all. There is also no undue vibration at normal speeds and I still plane out normally and hit the usual ~43mph at full throttle.

I used the exact same thrust washer that was on the boat before the prop was rebuilt. Do I need to switch to a thicker one? I couldn't go much thicker or I wouldn't be able to get the castle nut on all the way anymore.

Is this something to be concerned about?

Also on a slightly unrelated note. This boat originally had a 3 cylinder engine and the tach is still calibrated for it. It doesn't read correctly with the 4 cylinder. There's a dial on the back of the tach, but I don't know where to set it for 4cylinder operation. Anyone know the proper setting on a tach for a 4 cylinder?

Try putting your tach on position # 6. If you can borrow one, try a different prop on it. Worst case, prop shaft could be bent.

Another thought. Try putting the prop forward thrust washer in the prop before installing and torque the prop nut down to 10-12 ft lbs and see what happens.
