Slip/moored boat what do you do with your trailer?

For those who slip/moor their trailerable boats, where do you store your trailer? I live in an HOA. Unless I have a friend with a farm, which I don't, I suppose I'd have to pay for storage. Just wondering what others do.

I trailer and store in enclosed boat storage unit in the Burnside area. I'm getting old and considering the future. Considering a covered slip with a lift further down the lake, e.g. Rowena maybe. Another 35 minutes but eliminates a stop. Considering selling my Bryant 214 and downsizing since it's just me anymore but then I give up the ability to sleep on the lake. A lot of things to consider. Just thinking options.

Park the empty trailer in your back yard where it can't be seen, do a camouflage job if necessary to hide it.

Gee, it depends on the HOA. Lean it upright against a fence, comes to mind.
It's a 21 foot boat with 8.5 beam. I've thought of something similar but I imagine I would need the trailer more often than I think. Example: How do you remove an outdrive, which needs to be done frequently, with the boat on a lift?

Possible maybe. I thought it might fit under my deck but the post to the wall distance is 7'7". Haven't measured the trailer width but I'm thinking that won't work.

Yeah I'd have to keep my current storage just to keep the trailer. Another 100/month but may be worth it.

Why does the out drive need to be removed frequently ? Is there another issue ? Usually once each season is all that is needed. Back in my younger days we kept our boat in a lift. Had a big 14' flat bottom boat we pulled up under the lift to do our maintenence.

HOA and boat ownership don't mix that well. I store my trailers ( 3 of them) at my house. If you can store your trailers out of sight (behind house, fence, etc) then you may be able to store it, but your HOA rules would need to be well understood to see if that is allowed.

Otherwise you will be paying for boat/trailer storage, which many people do. so, you should be able to find a place . . . or find a friend with a farm.

Hobbies cost money now. Not many freebees anywhere.
HOA house is just a apartment on the ground. They totally control your property. You gave them all the rights.
Oh well.

I was considering yearly to be frequent. Probably no way out of this for me except to keep my current storage for trailer only. What makes it worse is, in addition to the HOA, I live at the apex of a cul-de-sac. So property lines get tight as they approach the street meaning I would have to drive slightly onto the neighbors property to store and retrieve the trailer, just adding to negatives. I'm just whining lol.

yeah, my marina charges for trailers on property during the season ($50/month). Off season is "free" for slip holders.
