HAHAHA!!! I know i'm now a copy-cat!! I didn't want to steal Crabby Bob's thread soo hear I go...

After the 4th of July I posted this thread - 86' 110 Bogging down
I have done the compression test on all cylinders reading 115, all plugs were replaced, spark test was conducted on all wires also... Everything came out fine. I instead on taking her out a couple of more times... and this happens like clock-work! half way between the marina and Elliot Key (5miles halfway), my speed goes from 34mph to 28-29 if it's just me and my brother. I am on plane doing fine but the engine sound is dramatic and the drop in speed is surely felt. Now if im loaded with 4 people onboard (max. 5), my boat will completely come down from plane and just chug at 10mph.... Like mentioned in Crabby's thread, I shut her down... wait... run it again and it will do fine for less than 5mins... Like i said, it's mostly a problem with more people onboard. Is there a SLOW remedy for mines? I know it's and older year and smaller size... The pee flows out just fine...
I should also add, that day of the 4th, I added seafoam which i have never done before. Also, my VRO is disconnected so I mix in the tank. Please do help me out!!

Re: SLOW Mode help!!!

Fuel tank vent clear? Try running it on another portable fuel tank? Sounds like a fuel restriction..

Re: SLOW Mode help!!!

as rickdb1boat says, check the tank vent (crack open the filler cap and see if things improve)

Also try assisting the fuel pump with the primer ball while its bogging. This will help isolate a fuel or ignition problem. If squeezing the ball doesn't help, check for spark at all cylinders with a spark tester.

Good luck.....:)

Re: SLOW Mode help!!!

If it's going into SLOW mode and the water pump is pumping well, it could be a faulty temp sensor that telling the PowerPack to slow you down due to a high temp reading. Or, the thermostat needs a rebuild. If you pump the primer bulb and the engine responds positively, you either have a fuel line air leak somewhere or your VRO is failing. I just took the VRO off my 99 J60-3cyl ( oil side has been capped off since new) and replaced it with a simple BRP fuel pump and it completely cured a problem that sounds just like yours.

Let's not jump to conclusions. A 1986 110 V4 crossflow does not have SLOW.

Re: SLOW Mode help!!!

Have you checked spark while its acting up? Have you firmed up the squeeze ball while its acting up?
