Re: SLOW sensor on 60 hp

Rather tough question to follow. Here's my take. You don't have a SLOW sensor. You only have a TEMP sensor. Overheat conditions are detected by the TEMP sensor which turns on the SLOW mode circuit built into the power pack. Call me curious, but wouldn't you want to know if your engine overheated? With the temp sensor connected and operating, if your engine overheats two things happen: 1) alarm sounds and 2) SLOW engages which limits engine to 2500 RPM. With the temp sensor disconnected you get neither of the two warnings. Oh yes -- you get one more warning -- the screech of a siezing motor. If the sensor is bad, replace it. They are hundreds of times cheaper than an engine.
