slow to WOT

can somebody shed light on this problem for me my 1972 AQ130A(130hp) 270 leg runs perfect without any misses or pops basically she purrrs like a kitty cat but whilst out on the sea if i throttle her quick she will take time to get to WOT the fuel is fresh the carbs are clean could it be a timing issue is what i thought but then wouldnt it missfire the compressions are 140 all round the plugs are new dissy new points new condenser new battery full is it then normal for it to slowly pick up

I do not know what your timing specs should be, but that is something you should check and verify with a timing light.

Provided your carbs are clean and timing is good, you may want to look at adjusting and synchronizing the idle set screws on the carbs.
