I'm not sure if the this is the correct forum to post in, but couldn't find anything better.

Anyway, on the inside of my boat in one section i have a few small cracks and there is also a small hole that is about 2" wide by 1" tall. Just wondering if there is anything I should but in there to fill the hole and avoid any more cracking or fiberglass breaking off.

Thanks!

You will get better input with a picture and/or a better description of the hole and where it is. In the dark I would recommend Marine Tex.

Here are the pics of the hole/cracks. It is located in the back of the boat, behind the latch going into the gas tank, batteries, etc on a bass boat.

Thanks.

Grind, scrape and or sand the loose stuff off and use the Marine Tex. Mix a small batch and play with some scrap wood first. Marine Tex is one of those miracle products that actually work. It comes in both white and grey. You can use a water moistened finger to smooth it. When cured it is like case hardened steel.

This is what i do to Marine Tex...Throw it into the garbage...why oh why are soo many posts filled with this wonder paste I have no Idea.....

1. your "void" is Much larger then any filler should be used for...you need to grind and fill with glass ( cabosil and mat..then final with layers of mat and resin..fair out )

2. this job looks to me like its not a DIY project.. almost factory warranty ... ( Big air void )

3. Marine Tex should Never be used on a repair unless absolutly last ditch effort for repairs.. ( not permanent ) .

YD.
