small hull repair

Hi All--

I was loading my boat at the ramp and hadn't noticed that a roller had fallen off the trailer. I was cranking the boat in, heard a slight screech, stopped and saw I'd dragged it over the metal where the roller was missing. Re-floated the boat (the roller was in the water on the ramp), got a new clip, fixed the roller, re-loaded the boat. There's about an 8-inch scratch in the bottom paint, and the hull is scratched just a fraction of an inch as well. What's a good repair? Some kind of sealant and touch up the bottom paint? what's good for a sealant? Marine Tex ok? Something more permanent?

Thanks,

Jeff

Marine Tex is the absolute best in my book for that type of repair.

Fiberglass, sorry :) I also have a few places where there are fine cracks in the glass along the top of the transom. Don't want any water getting into the transom, so intend to sand them down and refinish. What should I use for small cracks in the glass?

Re: small hull repair

Use Marine-tex , when almost hard, smooth the area with Acetone.
