i brought home a 7lb 1 year old yorkie. my other yorkie got a pretty big piece of pizza crust from trash. he dropped it and the small one ran off with it. im assuming he inhaled a piece that was at least 3in long. his stomach has been messed up since yesterday around 5pm. now i think he has jumped off the couch today and sprained his leg. he is just miserable tonight. probably the most worried about his stomach. he has not used the bathroom but has tried throwing up. our other one is 12 lbs and was sold to us as a yorkie, we think he is a snorkie and can take just about anything. but the little one is fragile. last night i gave it a little pepto bismol. any help or just suggestions would be appreciated.

I do know that if your dog consumes something that need to come up......... feed the dog a few table spoons of hydrogen peroxide and watch out. Anything and everything in the poor puppies stomach will be coming up.

We keep some available in out medicine cabinet. It reacts with a dog the same way ippapac works for people.

Looking at the time on your post (last night) I would consider a vet visit today.

It might be something not related to the pizza at all.

Ditto on the vet. -and quickly.

My daughters Yorkie is five pounds. She is alergic to every thing. Special food and special treats.

Little dogs react very quickly to the wrong food. As others have sugested.....

Take the dog to the vet quickly.........

To get the digestive tract going in dogs,
Boil some hamburger.
Then cook some rice..

Since this is a yorkie (My mother has a mini and toy yorkies) Instead of feeding normal food. Give the little one the hamburger and rice mix. Besure to take the dog out side 10-20 minutes after..

He'll either throw up, or start to squirt out the back end. Rice will go right through dog.

My good ol Charlie had a rubber dog toy that he chewed up and plugged him self up.. I took him to the vet because he was throwing up yellow foam. Vet said thats BILE. Happens when the back end is plugged. Took Xrays and an exam. 180 bucks later he tells me to feed him boiled hamburger and rice. for the 1st 2 days. Then increase the food by adding veggies. Carrots, broccoli. I basically looked in the fridge and used the veggies that my wife wasn't going to use.. I had a huge bowl of food that lasted a week. (my kids ate it too :))

After a day or to of feeding the dog this rice dish, he was begging to go outside 10 minutes after eating.. Cleared him right out..

Good grief.

I really hope you mean hydrogen peroxide SOLUTION, no more than 3% or 6% as the pure form is likely to result in violent explosion of the dog or at the very least, instant death.

Even the solution is only suitable for emergency poisoning cases where death would otherwise result.

Pizza, however you look at it, is not poison. If the dog is constipated vomiting will not help and will only make the dog feel worse.

To the other poster that suggested pepto bismol - please don't feed human medicines to dogs as this can be very dangerous.

What you need is a VET!

Before you make a statement like that I suggest you google it. I have two AKC dogs and this is a common practice for emergencies.

Hydrogen Peroxide right from the bottle....... no need to dilute.

We are talking about the bottle that is commonly on the shelves in markets ........

Do you really think I would post a solution that would be dangerous!
The OP suspected it was pizza crust and there could have been more in there.
