I’m thinking of getting one of these small portable generators to run my small AC on my boat: I know that the Honda EU200i is a great little unit that runs for ever and it’s very quite & reliable. But I’m also looking at KIPOR unit, the KGE3000 Ti, its less money (not much less) and a bit more power. Is the KIPOR unit worth it or just stick with Honda unit?

Any feedback on the KIPOR unit would be greatly appreciated…Thanks.

I've never seen any generator that was as quiet as the little Hondas. Not even close...lots of people around here use them for running lights when shrimping and flounder gigging...

Ok,
So I registered for this site just to post a reply to your question. I've thought about doing it but never got around to it till now.

Take an opinion from a power equipment tech and don't even think about the Kipor. There are several reasons why. Honda generators are the best on the market in my opinion, I've seen alot of brands, and Honda shines above them all, sure they cost more but they are worth every penny. Warranties are awsome through Honda. They do some much to help their customers out when a machine has a problem. Parts are very available for Honda, not for Kipor. I've also heard Kipor is being sued for using Honda's design. I've worked with the cheap knockoff's of honda's and they run like trash! You'll find Honda certified dealers, and tech all over the country. Good luck finding ones for Kipor. Also don't be fooled by numbers on the generator's and clamed output. Just so you know, just about every generator wattage output is surge watt's. That means it's able to put out that much for a second or two but that's it. I belive honda's EU2000i is about 1800 continuous. Plus if you want more power, You can get a parallel kit and run two honda's of the same model and get almost double the power. Do your self a favor, find a good local Honda Generator dealer, and listen to one for yourself. You'll be hooked. Buy and Kipor, and remember this, I told you so. I'm not trying to sell you one myself, just trying to give you a good answer.
Regards Ken
