The 1975 135HP "full throttle operating range" was "4,500 to 5,500 RPM" (see page 2-2 of your service manual or the "specifications" page of your owner's manual).<br /><br />I don't think that anyone expects you to run the 1975 motor at 5,800 RPM very much. The 5,800 RPM is the top end to prop for so that you don't overwork your motor. With the lower pitch props you will get out of the hole in a hurry and your motor will last a lot longer.
