Re: Smart Car

But not if I have to spend two hours in everyone's blindspot on the interstate each day.
Imagine drivng that on a road filled with semis!

But around town could be even scarier! Remember all those soccer moms driving SUV's? They're all on the phone and I don't think they even know what a blind spot is.

I don't care how many "safety" tests that thing passes. It's just too small.

I kinda live out in the country where it's not really possible to get beside someone, so it'd be fine there. Just not for my commute to work.

PS - I drive an SUV. :D

Re: Smart Car

Most of my driving is back and forth to work maybe 30-40 miles a day. Was looking at a car to full fill that need. A few days ago was looking at the smart car and a few others. Think I'm going totally electric, if I can find one for the right price. I notice dc conversion kits for small trucks and cars, would fit my needs well.

If the majority of the money I paid for gas didn't go to the middle east then I might think differently about it.

Re: Smart Car

there about 20 of them in kelowna....

like turin said....companys....

side note......a guy here parked one by backing between two cars that were allready parked curbside...he fit frght in....the city gave him a parking ticket....

he fought it.....he said "you are asking us to be enviromentally frendly and also to use alternative transportation into the down town area because of parking problems..."

the city let him off and is now making special parking spots for them.

You know, it would almost be spacious inside if it was a one-seater.

Funny, there's a 2 year waiting list at the dealership... Would love to find one for sale cheap in good condition... Heck, they're better than mopeds! :D

Re: Smart Car

I dont know but you can park a moped on the side walk.
I gess also the crash tests were not good. Some one told me once that its like driving a two seater sports car that only does 55 and looks looks like a ping pong ball. I gess if you lived in a big city it might be an option .
Looks like parking it would be a charm. But were are you going to put the wife and you 2 kids:eek:.

If you had room for clubs it would be a neat golf cart.

Yeah... tiny and all but get used to them. There's no question that compact, gas miser commuter cars are the future.

I'd rather we were still driving hemi Cudas or LS6 Chevelles dammit! :)

Oh I'm with you there! There's nothing like a good 'ole classic American muscle car!

Still, I WILL give my son an old fixer upper muscle car for his 15th birthday... reguardless of gas prices.

Speaking of gulf carts on some of the populated small islands around me that's what thay use to get around. The problem is there crashing after leaving the bar with no insurance.

I saw it on the front of a car magazen. Its a cool car and thay have kept the Cuda look like thay did with Comero.
