Smart Tab Adjustment

I have a 19' 1986 Chris Craft Cavalier which I recently installed Smart Tabs on, ST1290-60. They worked great my first time out when it was me, my wife and two girls (ages 2 and 4). The next time I took it out I had the 4 of us plus two more adults who sat in the very back of the boat. The boat has a Merc 140 so it isn't the most powerful thing around. With them in the back and the Smart tabs I was still getting a lot of bow lift. This was with the suggested starting settings on the tabs, lift pressure #3 and angle at 25 degrees. What would you suggest I go to next to fix this problem. Should I adjust one or another or both? Thanks in advance.

Re: Smart Tab Adjustment

If your getting that much bowrise then I would jump to setting #5 that will place more pressure and give you more stern lift which is what you need. You kinda have to play with the settings and see what works for your boat and load. I have alreay went through all five setting and found that at the #3 position the boat rides like a cadillac. Trial and error..:D

Good Luck

Re: Smart Tab Adjustment

Most of the time I'm fishing alone in my boat and I'm pretty close to 250#. If I have the port tab on the #3 position and the starboard tab in the #4 position, will that even the boat out for my weight being on the starboard side? Just a thought.
