John:

A friend of mine purchased a set of Smart Tabs for my boat for my birthday last year and only had a couple of times to test them. Yesterday I was out for a long enough run to realy give them a test and I think that the shocks on mine are too heavy. I have it set on the minimum setting and I can't trim the bow up before I achieve blowout on the prop. Any suggestions? Here is a picture of what I have.

Re: Smart Tab question.

You may be right, but in the mean time have they affected the top speed any? If so than they may also have too much angle on them. It’s hard to tell from that pic but they do seem to be a long way down. If the top speed is the same than I would suggest its fine as is. My boat runs flatter on the water but has the same amount of boat in the water, and the top end is near enough the same with or without them, but in every other way the boat is much better with them, hope that makes sense. I'm sure John will be along soon enough to confirm this or suggest something else. Good luck.

Re: Smart Tab question.

I honestly don't know if it has slowed me down or not as my speedo isn't working and I don't have a GPS handy. My RPM's are lower (5400) than they were when I was in the Everett (6000)area, but I am also 2100 feet higher too. If I drop down to a 17P I should regain the RPM's.

Don't change the angle, Call us at 800-233-0194 and we will exchange the actuators at no charge. You should gain speed not loose speed. The ride should be better, plaining easier, and handling more stable.
