Well I dunno, that one on the port side looks to be off a degree or two ... Kidding! Please keep us posted as to how they work out.

Damn, I was hoping your next post was gonna be after throwing her in the water!! Whens the big test??? Can't believe you drilled holes in your boat, lol :D See with me drilling holes in the boat is no issue since I got this big outdrive thingy that was drilled through the boat some time ago. ;)

Gotta work today and tomorrow but if the tides is right gunna put her in after work hopefully ..
Drilling holes is no big deal heck with a Seacast transom I don't even have to seal the screws . Sealed them with 5200 anyway..;)

I was able to give it a test run today . There was some improvement but still wants to porpoise when I step to the back of the boat . I have the tabs set in the middle position so I will adjust them to a stronger position and see what that does . I have some video that I will put together . My camera ran out of space before I could get the shots I wanted .

If it is still porpoising, do the adjustment that you already talked about. If that doesn't do it, then call or email nauticus and ask them to send you the 60s. You should see major improvement, not some. Is she taking turns better yet? good luck

Trim Tabs add to the ability to trim Bow Down.
Shifting weight to the rear is the equivalent of adding Bow Up trim.

Is the engine trimmed Down when the porpoising occurs?

The motor is trimmed down as far as it can go . There is not a lot of angle to the transom . We thought about shimming the bracket for more down trim but it would cause the steering arm to hit the raised part of the transom . I did not think of that when I rebuilt the transom ..

Could you install a transom wedge?

Not without the steering arm hitting the raised part of the transom . The splash area is a very tight fit.

I wonder if shimming the bottom of the mounting bracket would let the motor trim down farther?

I would think that would do just the opposite of what you want... how about RAISING the motor on the transom.... is your anti vent plate an inch above the keel?

I see you are in the lowest position now and the lower the motor is into the water the more bow lift it gives when trimmed down

Would a setback plate help with the steering issue?

dan02GT , the boat steers fine . It just lays down on it's side while turning . I am thinking with the hull design I will just have to live with that part .. Here is the o/b set up .

The prop is a 15 pitch , just under 5000 rpm at around 37 mph at wot ..

raise that motor up a bit and try it... the higher you can run it without ventilating and keep the pickup in the water the better IE you could go up a couple inches as long as the prop doesn't start blowing out.

also what 15" prop do you have? IE if it has a lot of rake it could be causing porpoising

Re: Smart Tab question ...

sotw , if I am reading it right the prop is a 13.5 x 15 . The vent plate might be just a tad above the hull bottom now . You say lift it higher ?
Here is another shot..

sphelps, I don't mean how it steers by steering issue, I meant getting clearance to install wedge. By looking at your pictures I see what you mean in regards to the steering arm. That's not going to be easy to work with.

More negative trim would definitely help you with the porpoising if you can figure out how to get it.
