Re: Smart Tab SX Install
We are on a very small lake. There isn't a part of the water that me, the wife, and the dogs can't swim for it. We have plenty of life jackets, even life jackets for the dogs.
I'm not worried about the boat because for me it is just used for weekend getaways. That's not to say that I will be careless, but I'm not going to spend too much time worrying about the patch job I did on that small hairline crack that may be in the gelcoat because I had to drill two additional holes.
In any case, although the tabs do mount underneath the waterline of the boat the holes do not go through the hull. They mount into the transom.
I guess my attitude is more geared towards just get in there and do the job to get the boat on the water and enjoy it, not that you should be quick and sloppy about it but there is a point where people spend to much worrying about things that matter relatively little.
Thanks for your concern, but I'll be just fine.
As you said " I'm a car guy and would be worried if I was messing up my daily driver and not having a car for a few days. "
That is really not gonna work on the water. Are you Just going to pull over at the nearest gas station. You lose those on the water and you might just be up to your a-hole in water in the middle of the lake. Maybe you can swim for it, how about the wife & Kids ? Do you have a PFD ?
Pardon me if I seem straight forward but you really need to understand the consequences of your decision to hap-hazzardly mound something under the waterline on a boat.
Think about what you really are doing . . .
