OK so i am purchasing Smarts tabsfor my Rinker 192. Actually the Admiraless is purchasing them for me for Christmas.

I am terrified of drilling into the transom anyway but I am going to cuz everyone says they are just the ticket to prevent some of the porpoising ect.

I have read and researched alot and had decided on the Smart tabs sx...
but after poking around on nauticus's web site was wondering if I needed to get the SS series because of the shape of my transom. I have looked at other installs on other 192's and they have all been the sx series mounted very far inboard. But in looking at the Nauticus website it looks like I need to use the SS series.

Can some one clarify this for me please. I am really scared of making a mistake on this one. I have attatched some pics of my transom to help.

I have the stainless tabs. Cake to install... I spent more time worrying about the same thing, then I did installing them. Just follow the directions, and take your time. I do not see the attached transom pic? But I think I know what you are talking about. The SX's may be the ticket. It is not necessary to have the SS on your boat.

You want them as far outboard as possible, I would recommend you call Nauticus and get their advice, I think you can mount the stainless version on your transom by moving the tab bracket to the rear set of holes and the upper end of the cylinder will be on the angled part of the transom. You may find pics of your style transom on the Nauticus website that may help. On the right side there is a menu, click on Installation Instructions, there are several groups of photos there, maybe some will be of your style transom.

I will attach some pics of my install, similar but different design transom, I did not move the tab brackets on mine, mine work fine.

Thanks Nlain. So how did you get your boat ion their website?

I have emailed them the same series of pics as I posted. I plan on call ing today.
I could be overthinking but I just dont want to screw this up.

Any other knowledge is helpful.

According to the website, you need the SS Series due to your transom design...

Look under the Rinker section of these forums, thread "smart tabs". There is a guy "MVN" that has a 192 just like you and I have. He posted some pics of his boat with the SX model tabs. His posts are really helpful and he had good results. I was glad to see pics of them mounted on transoms like ours. I am going to install the SX models on my 192 right after the holidays. Everytime I get ready to order, my wife seems to find something else, like food or clothes or something to waste the money on. I am not sure if she understands how much better this will make the ride. I am suprised at how many people have the same issue with the 192's.

We had an iboats gathering at Lake Griffin in the spring of this year, John had put up somethings as door prizes and something for boats with Smart Tabs that were there and run in the water, I registered and was theren my boat was run in the water, I sent pics with registration and he placed them in with the others already there.

Re: smart tabs advise needed

Thanks guys for the help! I spoke with John from Smart tabs today. He advised on the sx series. Due to the knotch that is in the transom. He looked at the pics and that is what he said.

We are going to order them tonight so I can open tham on christmas. Love that company so far.
Vic, I have looked at MVN pics and had pm with him. I will def use his pics of install for a reference.

Love the 192 except for bow rise and some prrpoising issues.

I will let everyone know how it goes.

You will never lose sight of the water again, you may even find that you get on plane real easy at half throttle instead of full throttle, ride will be better, I'll just say I know you will be happy with them. Nauticus is a great company with great support.

Thanks Nlain!

I am excited to open my "surprise" on christmas morning.

I really think they will do wonders for the boat's performance. Mainly bow rise which I feel is very excessive.

Are you going to the gathering at crystal Isle this year? We were supposed to be at the Lake Griffin one but had tow vehichle issues. Sounded like a great time.

I am planning to be there, have reservations, not 100% sure yet and I am on the committee putting it together, only thing worrying me right now is company wife worked for is closing down, not sure what finances I will have by then, the plan is still there, I will hold on till the last before I cancel, hope I do not have too.
